Narcissus : Arti kata Narsis
Arti kata narsis atau Narcissus is 'sleep' or 'numbness' derived from Greek word Narke. In Greek mythology Narcissus was a hunter from Thespiae who was renowned for his beauty. He was exceptionally proud, in that he disdained those who loved him. At the end of his story, he fell in love with his own reflection in a pool, kneeled and gazed, then he fell into the water and drowned, wasted away to death, not being able to swim. So, people if you are a beautiful person, please take a swimming lesson..so you won't end up like Narcissus.
There are several version of this myth but...don't bother so much because all end up with death or suicide..or never less than that. Some said Narcissus was a man who fell in love with a men and other said he actually twin who fell in love with his twin sister. I don't know which version better...bcoz everything end up with death none better. Wise people said "Death is just a begining", but in this myth death... mean death..D I E.
Narcissus also the botanic name for a genus of mainly hardy, mostly spring-flowering, bulbs in the Amaryllis family native to Europe, North Africa, and Asia. Daffodil is it common English name. The myth said, the plant first sprang from where Narcissus died. So it called Narcissus.
All Narcissus varieties contain the alkaloid poison lycorine, mostly in the bulb but also in the leaves. So please be careful. It has long been recognised that some cultivars provoke dermatitis more readily than others. It famouse with term "daffodil itch", involves dryness, fissures, scaling, and erythema in the hands, often accompanied by subungual hyperkeratosis (thickening of the skin beneath the nails). So please be carefull.
